Zumbini Fundraiser for Kenya with Elise Gilbert
You AND your little one are invited to join Elise Gilbert, Saturday January 26th from 9:30-10:15am at Painted Lady Studio for a Zumbini fundraiser class! Created by the Zumba Fitness and Baby First, Zumbini offers the ultimate bonding experience for you and your babe; it’ll have you both singing, dancing and playing to fresh new music that even us adults can enjoy.
Moms, dads, grandparents, aunties and all are welcome to attend with little ones aged 6 months – 4 years (one parent per child please).
The cost is $20 per family or $15 per family with donations items with all proceeds going towards LPK. Comfortable clothing is encouraged, but please no food, drink (water is ok) or beloved toys. Donations can be paid the day of the fundraiser.
My name is Elise Gilbert and I’m a certified Zumbini instructor. Currently I’m attending Queen’s University for the Faculty of Education program. I’m raising funds and collecting donations for a once in a lifetime opportunity that will have me traveling to Kenya in March to work with the women and children of Living Positive Kenya (LPK). LPK is a charity that supports women who are HIV positive with hope and recourses to help them live a healthier, more economically stable life. The charity focuses on empowering women by providing them with home-based care, counselling, trade skills, health education and much more. LPK also works with the children of these women, many of whom are forced to become orphans due to their circumstance. LPK provides these children with education and housing. While in Kenya I’ll be using my skills in the arts and movement to help empower both the women and their children so they can see value in themselves and hope in their future.
If you’re interested in donating items some things that are always welcome are: used women and children’s clothing, school supplies, feminine products, and toys (particularly modelling clay/Playdough).
